दिसंबर से इसमें वाहन दौड़ने शुरु हो जाएंगे। परियोजना से जुड़े अधिकारियों की मौजूदगी में पूजा अर्चना के साथ टनल के दोनों सिरों को मिला दिया गया। इसके साथ ही टनल निर्माण को अंतिम रूप देने की कवायद तेज कर दी गई है।
भारतीय राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण (एनएचएआई) के क्षेत्रीय अधिकारी सीके सिन्हा ने बताया कि सुरंग की खोदाई का कार्य इसी साल दस फरवरी को शुरु किया गया था। इसे 16 अगस्त को रिकार्ड समय में पूरा कर लिया गया। उन्होंने बताया कि डाट काली मंदिर के पास बनाई जा रही इस सुरंग की लंबाई 340 मीटर है। इसका आधा हिस्सा उत्तर प्रदेश और आधा उत्तराखंड में आता है। सुरंग की चौड़ाई 14.20 मीटर है। परियोजना निदेशक पंकज मौर्य ने बताया कि सुरंग में गाड़ियों की आवाजाही को सुगम बनाने के लिए इसे तीन लेन का बनाया जा रहा है। उन्होंने बताया कि सुरंग का निर्माण इसी साल दिसंबर तक पूरा कर इसे वाहनों के लिए खोल दिया जाएगा।
बता दें कि दिल्ली-देहरादून एक्सप्रेसवे परियोजना के तहत प्राधिकरण की देहरादून इकाई के पास गणेशपुर से डाटकाली (अशारोड़ी) तक करीब 20 किलोमीटर सड़क पर चौड़ीकरण का कार्य चल रहा है। इसमें सबसे अहम करीब 12 किलोमीटर लंबी एलिवेटेड रोड भी है। एलिवेटेड रोड के लिए कुल 571 पिलर बनाए जाने हैं। वर्तमान तक 240 पिलर पर कुछ न कुछ काम पूरा हो चुका है। रो नदी में बनाई जा रही यह एलिवेटेड रोड विकास और वन्य जीव संरक्षण का एक नमूना भी होगा। उन्होंने यह भी बताया गणेशपुर से करीब डेढ़ किलोमीटर आगे चलकर यह हाइवे वर्तमान हाईवे से अलग हो जाएगा और एलिवेटेड रोड में बदल जाएगा। इस रोड से चलते वक्त एक भव्य नजारा देखा जा सकेगा। परियोजना को अक्टूबर 2023 तक पूरा करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।
यह परियोजना दिल्ली और देहरादून के बीच संपर्क को सुगम करने के लिहाज से बेहद अहम है। परियोजना के बाद पडौसी राज्य उत्तराखंड के आर्थिक विकास को भी गति मिलने की उम्मीद है। इससे दिल्ली से दून तक का सफर ढाई से तीन घंटे में पूरा किया जा सकेगा।
जाम से मिलेगी निजात, 15 मिनट में होगा सफर पूरा
इस एलिवेटेड रोड के पूरा होने के बाद गणेशपुर से डाटकाली मंदिर के बीच एक घंटे का जाम भरा सफर भी महज 15 मिनट में पूरा होगा। क्योंकि यहां पर करीब 16 किमी लंबी एलिवेटेड रोड बनाई जाएगी और इससे मोहंड के मोड़ समाप्त हो जाएंगे। बता दें कि लाल पुल पर आए दिन जाम लगने से यात्रियों को काफी परेशानी होती है। इस क्षेत्र में मोबाइल नेटवर्क भी काम नहीं करते हैं। परियोजना पूरी होने के बाद लोग निकट भविष्य में एलिवेटेड रोड के माध्यम से मोबाइल नेटवर्क के डार्क एरिया से सरपट निकल सकेंगे ।
