देहरादून:- चंपावत विधानसभा में मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी के उपचुनाव की तारीख का ऐलान हो गया है। चंपावत उपचुनाव के लिए 31 मई को मतदान होगा और 3 जून को परिणाम आएगा। 4 मई को चंपावत चुनाव को लेकर चुनाव आयोग नोटिफिकेशन जारी करेगा और नॉमिनेशन की आखिरी तारीख 11 मई तय की गई है। नामांकन वापस लेने की तारीख 17 मई तय की गई है।

चंपावत सीट को जातिगत समीकरणों के आधार पर धामी के लिए आसान माना जा रहा है। पहाड़ी जिले की इस सीट पर करीब 54 फीसदी ठाकुर मतदाता हैं। सीएम धामी भी ठाकुर हैं। इस सीट पर 24 फीसदी ब्राह्मण हैं। ब्राह्मणों को परंपरागत रूप से बीजेपी का वोटर माना जाता है। चंपावत सीट पर 18 फीसदी दलित और चार फीसदी मुस्लिम वोटर भी हैं। इस तरह वोटों के गुणा-गणित को देखते हुए बीजेपी ने सीएम धामी को चंपावत से उपचुनाव लड़ाना मुफीद समझा।

गहतोड़ी के इस्तीफा देने के बाद सीएम धामी ने चंपावत में कहा था कि मां पूर्णागिरि और मां शारदा ने मुझे बुलाया है। सीएम ने ये भी कहा था कि चंपावत मां बाराही देवी का धाम है, गोल्ज्यू का धाम है। मैं शारदा किनारे ही पैदा हुआ, इसलिए यहां से लगाव है। कैलाश गहतोड़ी के चंपावत विधानसभा सीट से इस्तीफा देने के बाद सीएम धामी ने यहां से चुनाव लड़ने के अनेक कारण बताए।
