विपिन कर्णवाल ने अपने फेसबुक पोस्ट में लिखा था, “मैं इसलिए किसी कैंडल मार्च या बाजार को बंद कराने नहीं गया, क्योंकि 19 साल की लड़की की जो पिता और भाई कमाई खाता हो, और वो लड़की सुनसान जंगल के एक ऐसे रिजॉर्ट में काम करती हो, जहां अय्याशी होती हो। सबसे बड़ा गुनहगार तो ऐसी लड़की का बाप ही है जो कच्चा दूध भूखे बिल्लों के सामने रख दिया।” अपने पोस्ट में आगे लिखा कि उसके लिए क्या सड़कों पर चिल्लाना, जो बाद में लड़की की लाश भी बेच दें।
इस बयान पर बवाल मचने के बाद विपिन कर्णवाल ने माफी मांग ली। उन्होंने कहा कि मेरी पोस्ट से अगर लोगों की भावानाएं आहत हुई हों, तो इसके लिए मुझे खेद है। मेरी पोस्ट को लोगों ने सही भावना से नहीं लिया, यह महसूस करने के बाद मैंने पोस्ट को तुरंत हटा दिया। इसके बावजूद उनकी विवादित पोस्ट को लेकर रायवाला और ऋषिकेश में माहौल गरमाया रहा और जगह- जगह प्रदर्शन किया गया। बता दें कि कर्णवाल की इस पोस्ट को लेकर ऋषिकेश निवासी जितेंद्र पाल पाठी ने शिकायत दर्ज करवाई है।
