बता दें कि विधानसभा चुनाव 2022 में भाजपा 47 सीटों पर प्रचंड बहुमत की जीत हासिल थी, इसके बावजूद मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी खटीमा विधानसभा से चुनाव हार गए थे. धामी को कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी भुवन कापड़ी ने चुनाव में करारी शिकस्त दी थी.
वहीं, चुनाव में धामी की हार के बाद मुख्यमंत्री की कुर्सी को लेकर खूब सियासी कयासबाजी चली थी, लेकिन भाजपा ने आखिरकार युवा चेहरे पुष्कर धामी पर ही अपना दांव खेला. हारने के बाद भी भाजपा ने पुष्कर सिंह धामी को सीएम बनाया.
मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने 23 मार्च को शपथ ली थी, अब चंपावत उपचुनाव में ऐतिहासिक जीत हासिल करने के धामी विधानसभा के सदस्य के रूप में शपथ लेंगे. आज सीएम विधानसभा सदस्य के पद और गोपनीयता की शपथ लेंगे.
