उत्तराखंड के सरकारी स्कूलों में इस बार कक्षा 3 और 6 के पाठ्यक्रमों में बदलाव किया जाएगा। एनसीईआरटी ने प्रस्ताव एनसीईआरटी को भेजा है। एनसीईआरटी की मंजूरी के बाद ही पाठ्यक्रम में बदलाव होगा।
यह बदलाव नई शिक्षा नीति 2020 के अनुसार किया जा रहा है, नए शिक्षा ढांचे को उत्तराखंड में सबसे पहले लागू किया गया, अब इस अनुरूप कक्षा तीन और मिडिल स्टेज में कक्षा 6 में इसकी शुरुआत की जाए जा रही है। पहले चरण में इन दो महत्वपूर्ण कक्षाओं के लर्निंग आउटकम और किताबों में बदलाव किया जा रहा है, इसलिए बदलाव के लिए एनसीईआरटी की मंजूरी जरूरी है। कक्षा 6 के पाठ्यक्रम में विशेष रूप से व्यावसायिक कौशल और गतिविधि आधारित शिक्षा को जोड़ा जा रहा है, साथ ही किताबों में उत्तराखंड के स्थानीय परिवेश, संस्कृति और यहां के महान व्यक्तियों से जुड़े अध्याय भी शामिल करने का भी प्रस्ताव है। उत्तराखंड में सरकारी स्कूलों के छात्रों को निशुल्क किताबें समय पर पहुंचना बड़ी चुनौती रहा है, शिक्षा विभाग की ओर से किताबों के प्रकाशन से लेकर सप्लाई तक की प्रक्रिया को मंजूरी दे दी गई है। इस बात की पुष्टि एससीईआरटी निदेशक वंदना गर्ब्याल ने की है।
